NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also Member of Parliament from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, on Sunday allocated an amount of Rs. 80 lakh from his MPLAD fund for various works to be undertaken in districts Udhampur, Reasi, Doda and Ramban.
Out of this amount, Rs. 25 lakh has been allocated for district Udhampur which includes Rs. 20 lakh earmarked for a Community Hall at Battal Block, Rs. 20 lakh for Community Hall at Krimchi Block and Rs. 5 lakh for protection work in Ward No. 11, near Shitla Mandir in Ramnagar.
An amount of Rs. 18.45 lakh, in addition to earlier sanctioned amount of Rs. 17.55 lakh, in total Rs. 35.9 lakh, has been allocated for construction of Link road from Kadmal to Popat Chhatravas, Katra in district Reasi, in convergence with the fund allocated by J and K Public Works Department.
An amount of Rs. 11.07 lakh has been recommended by Dr Jitendra Singh from MPLAD fund for purchase of one fuel efficient bus for Navodya Vidhalaya, Doda and Rs. 3 lakh for constructing protection wall at Middle School, Kudhar, Block Kastigarh, also in district Doda.
Another amount of Rs. 5 lakh has been recommended by Dr Jitendra for construction of protection wall at High School, Dhantrath in Ramban.
Dr Jitendra Singh also issued written directions to DC Udhampur, who happens to be the nodal officer for the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha constituency, to release the amount under different heads for carrying out the works as mentioned above.
This amount is in addition to several other works funded through Dr Singh’s MPLAD fund during the last one year, which include 1965 War Memorial at Reasi, Dreamland Park in Udhampur, School Bus for Navodya Vidhalaya Basohli, foot-bridges in rural areas of district Udhampur, modern community hall at Chenani, public meeting shed in Ramnagar etc.
In addition, a number of other projects have been initiated in the constituency through the efforts of Dr Jitendra which include Keediyan-Gadyal bridge in district Kathua, Basohli-Banera bridge, Bio-tech Park in Gati, Kathua, upgradation of Central School at Chenani, radio station at Udhampur, upgradation of radio transmitter at Bhadarwah, Express Road Corridor from Delhi to Katra via Amritsar etc.
