JAMMU: Senior leaders of JKPCC on Friday expressed serious concern over the failure of central Government to consider the demands of agitating jewellers in the country and criticised the tough stand adopted by the Government over the issue.
“The jewellers all over the country and in the State are agitating over imposition of duty and other conditions in the union budget, which has not only caused great hardships to them but to the common people” they said and added that the common man would be worst affected, as the burden would pass on to them, who are otherwise suffering a lot due to inflation especially during the BJP regime.
They urged upon the Central Government to reconsider its decision and withdraw the hike and other conditions in the larger interest of the people.
The was stated in a joint handout issued by Vice President PCC and former Minister Raman Bhalla, former Minister and General Secretary PCC Yogesh Sawhney, Chief Spokesperson PCC and former MLC Ravinder Sharma, General Secretaries PCC Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh and President DCC Jammu (Urban) Anil Chopra.
