JDA retrieves encroached land

JAMMU: Jammu Development Authority on Tuesday retrieved encroached JDA land by demolishing two compound walls, unauthorised wooden structures and hoardings.
The enforcement team acting on the direction of Vice Chairman, JDA under the direct supervision of Director Land Management JDA, Dr. Ravi Bharti, comprising of Chief Khilafwarzi Officer, Narinder Singh, Khilafwarzi Officer, Pankaj Singh Sambyal, Rajinder Singh Choudhary, Parshotam Kumar, Booti Singh Khilafwarzi Inspectors and the field staff of JDA in a day long anti-encroachment drive removed the encroachments and retrieved the JDA land from the encroachers/ trespassers.
During the drive, a patch of prime land adjoining to plot No. 39/5 at EWS JDA Housing Colony Roop Nagar was covered with compound wall and under the illegal occupation of encroacher for long time was retrieved by way of demolishing the compound wall raised over JDA land. At village Chak Changarwan Opp. Sector No.1, Rajinder Nagar Housing Colony Phase-II, where compound wall was being raised by some unscrupulous element has been removed. Meanwhile, the unauthorised businesses establishment running on the main road Muthi Camp Pulli to Roop Nagar-Police Naka and causing traffic hurdles were removed.
Besides, this the enforcement team removed five Khokhas/ unauthorised businesses establishment running on the main road Muthi Camp Pulli to Roop Nagar-Police Naka/ hoardings from the road side and those creating hurdles in free flow of traffic movement in the jurisdiction of JDA in compliance to the directions of the Supreme Court.
