JAMMU: Taking prompt action after receiving a complaint from the residents of Bahu Fort area regarding encroachment of JDA land, the Chief Khilafwarzi Officer along with staff visited the spot and found that the encroachers were raising tin sheds to raise permanent structures upon the land belonging to JDA.
Following the directions of Vice Chairman JDA, Director Land Management JDA and Chief Khilafwarzi Officer JDA dismantle the structure raised on the JDA land and also seized the material. The Senior Superintendent of Police Jammu was also requested to depute a team of police for the protection of officers/officials of JDA for removing the encroachments and dismantling the structure. The Station House Office Bagh-e-Bahu deputed strong contingent of police for the protection of the officers/officials. The encroachers posed resistance but the officials took immediate action to resist the encroachers. The locals appreciated the move of JDA and police for removing the encroachments from the area and also appealed that habitual land grabbers should be covered under PSA as they are also trying to encroach land of cremation ground.
