JDA draws lots for allotment of plots
JAMMU: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) on Wednesday held a draw of lots for allotment of plots at JDA housing colonies proposed in Birpur, Gole Gujral, Kot Bhalwal and Roop Nagar in the presence of Vice Chairman JDA.
The Master Plan envisages transfer of vacant Nazool land located within 13 km radius of the Jammu City to meet the growing urban demand for housing. The Plan create better infrastructure and in the process catering to the needs and demands of the fast expanding Jammu urban area.
In all 12,443 applications were accepted while 1,275 were rejected for not fulfilling the norms. The names of the 12,443 allottees were drawn through draw of lots on Wednesday.
The plot numbers were also intimated to the successful applicants soon after the draw of lots on JDA official website. This initiative was taken to ensure that no preferential treatment is given while allotting plot numbers, she said. She said that new housing colonies have been proposed to provide affordable housing to people.
