JDA conducts anti-encroachment drive

JAMMU: The Enforcement Wing of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) removed more than 200 encroachments in an anti-encroachment drive here at Transport Nagar.
A team of Enforcement Wing of JDA on the directions of the Vice Chairman, JDA under the supervision of Director Land Management, Rishpal Singh comprising of Executive Engineer JDA Division No. I Anil Pandohi, Narinder Singh CKO, Ashraf Parvaiz Tehsildar JDA Zone-B, Pankaj S Sambyal, KWO, Rajinder Choudhary, Parshotam Kumar, Balbir Singh, Naresh Kumar, Booti Singh, Romesh Kumar, Madan Lal Khilafwarzi Inspector’s, Jagjit Singh Girdwar and field staff removed more than 200 encroachments which were on road side in the shape of wooden kiosks, Rehris, Pharis, small steel structure/boxes, construction raised over pavements causing hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic movement in the said area.
During the day long anti-encroachment drive, JCB machine was put to operation and SDPO, East (Narwal) Jammu and Sub Inspector of Police Post Narwal, Wasim Mehraj extended police protection to field staff for making the drive successful.
JDA has warned the people, workers, mechanics (Mistri) transporters and businessman to desist encroaching of roads/footpaths which were for common use. As such, it creates traffic chaos and the congested road becomes accident prone. An action as warranted under law will be taken against the defaulter and such anti-encroachment drives shall continued in near future.
