JDA clears 22 building permission cases

JAMMU: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) on Thursday cleared 22 building permission cases at a Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) meeting held here. The meeting was presided over by Vice Chairman, JDA, R.K Shavan and was attended by all concerned members of JDA BOCA.
In the meeting, a total 24 building permission cases were examined, out of which 22 have been cleared while rest of the cases were deferred owing to certain deficiencies.
The Vice Chairman said that JDA will conduct frequent meetings to clear all pending cases, so that public does not suffer and meanwhile the people were made aware to strictly adhere to the provisions of New Master Plan 2032. Besides taking BOCA meeting, a threadbare discussion was held to implement the New Master Plan 2032. It was informed by the Chief Town Planner, JDA that all violations done in the municipal area require stringent action and the concerned authorities are required to be taken to task.
The Vice Chairman Stated that the responsibility to supervise and monitor the work of official concerning Khilafwarzi and Town Planning in Municipalities and Municipal Corporation pertaining to Master Plan vests with JDA and therefore the concerned cell has to keep a close coordination and liaison with them so that the New Master Plan is enforced strictly.
The meeting was attended by Senior Town Planner JDA, Tehsildar Headquarters, Executive Engineer PDD Inspection Division, Executive Engineer PHE Div-I, Executive Engineer PHE DIV-II, Executive Engineer PHE Rural Div-III and Executive Engineer Town Drainage.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman also reviewed the progress of all ongoing developmental works. It was intimated by the Engineering Wing that the beautification of Tawi Bridge is in full progress and will be completed before Darbar Move. It is pertinent to mention that JDA has adopted the flyovers and bridges of Tawi River for beautification purpose and started the working of fixing flower pots and other floriculture plants.
As a test case, Old Tawi Bridge and fly over near Civil Secretariat has been taken up in the first instance and they will be completed very soon.
The Vice Chairman said that JDA will also try to develop all water bodies and ponds in its jurisdiction as part of environment conservation and beautification of city.
