JAMMU: While taking up the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on conversion of residential area to commercial area at Roop Nagar Housing Colony, the Division Bench granted Jammu Development Authority (JDA) one week’s time to file response.
Advocate S.K Shukla referring to the provisions of Section 12(1) of the Development Act, has argued that the JDA has no jurisdiction to change the land use by converting the parking area for commercial purpose.
Division Bench further observed that in the submission made by Advocate S.K Shukla the problem of parking has not been addressed, upon this Adv Sindu Sharma appearing for JDA sought time to file response. The Division Bench granted one week’s time and directed to list this PIL on December 8, 2014. JNF
