JCO’s family alleges assault, threat by land mafia

JAMMU: Taking a strong note of alleged assaulting and torturing of a Border Security Force (BSF) JCO’s family by the land grabbers, Aam Aadmi Party, Jammu and Kashmir demanded justice in their favour from State Government and Police Department.
Talking to reporters, District Youth President AAP Jammu Amandeep Singh Boparai highlighted a recent incident in which wife and younger son of the JCO of BSF (who is posted in North East) were allegedly beaten up by local land mafia leader Rohit Sharma alias Vicky, resident of Indira Nagar who is said to be a BJP worker.
He said family has started construction of house on their registered plot which JCO had purchased 10-12 years back.
On 30th November, 2016 in morning, Vicky allegedly assaulted the wife of JCO and son, Boparai said that family approached Police Station, Miran Sahib and an FIR was lodged in this regard but police didn’t acted swiftly.
In the evening, when family was getting treated for wounds in Govt Medical Collage, Jammu, accused reached there with his friends and again assaulted them, he said.
Kamal Kishore, who is in BSF, was also present during the press conference, said that accused is threatening them that he has close ties with BJP’s sitting MLA from R.S Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat and police can’t take action against him.
He has also threatened that if family tried to come near their house, he will kill them all. Family of JCO is very frightened and is living in their relative’s house. Wife of JCO said that BJP claims that it has respect for soldiers and is working for their welfare.
Amandeep said that police has failed to act swiftly in arresting the accused which nerved the accused to attack again in Hospital.
He demanded a departmental inquiry by higher police authorities in this regard. Vipul Bali, State President, AAP (Youth) was also present and he said Dr Gagan Bhagat, MLA, R S Pura should clear his stand on this issue Manjeet Singh Sonu, Karanvir, Himanshu, Ankit and Rakesh Lakhotra were among other AAP volunteers present in the oppress conference.
