JAMMU: Jayesh Singh won the men’s singles title in the Jammu District Table Tennis Championship which concluded at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Wednesday.
In the final Jayesh defeated Sandeep 3-2 (9-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7). The women’s title was clinched by Surbhi Charak after she defeated Jhanvi in another tough contest that that lasted for full five sets(11-9, 9-11, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6).
Junior boys’ singles title went to Ritvik Gupta, who outplayed Manandeep 11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 8-11. In junior girls final, Jhanvi trounced Shreya Gupta 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-8.
The cadet boys’ trophy bagged by Sudiksham, who outplayed Hanumant Sharma 11-9, 7-11, 11-4, 6-11, 12-10. In the cadet girls final, Meghna Jain beat Iknoor Kour 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 11-8.
In veteran singles final, Sanjay Gupta defeated Jeet Raj Kalsi 12-10, 14-12, 11-9.
Member Legislative Council, Vijay Bakaya was the Chief Guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies as also other prizes.
