JAMMU: After film star Akshay Kumar boosted morale of the BSF soldiers by paying a personal visit to BSF headquarters in Jammu last week, another patriotic Bollywood star and prominent social worker Nana Patekar on Tuesday spent several hours with foot soldiers at the International Border in Hiranagar and Kathua.
Nana Patekar, who has himself acted in several patriotic films and played the role of army instructor in famous film Prahar interacted with the BSF personnel and paid glowing tributes to all those martyred jawans who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, safeguarding the mother Nation.
Dressed in blue jeans and black jacket Nana Patekar, wearing a BSF officers hat, greeted soldiers with warm handshakes and tight hugs. He asked about the well being of their families and enquired about their long duty hours at the border.
He observed that the foot soldiers guarding the borders should be acknowledged by the civil society as they stand guard 24×7 to protect the frontiers of the Nation.
Senior officers of Jammu Frontier, including Inspector General D.K Upadhyay, accompanied Nana Patekar to the forward posts along the International Border.
Sharing his emotions with the BSF jawans, Patekar said, “Border-men serving at the front are our real heroes. They fight a battle every day to protect the integrity of the nation.”
The morale of the BSF jawans was high and they felt elated after meeting Bollywood star.
He said that it was a great opportunity for him to come and meet BSF troops. “The whole nation stands firmly with them”, he added.
Expressing deep gratitude towards Nana Patekar, D.K Upadhayay, IG BSF, Jammu Frontier said that such visits raise the morale of troops, recognizing the immeasurable service rendered by world’s largest border grading force tasked to guard vast Indian frontier in western and eastern corridors.
