Janamashtami celebrated with religious fervour

SAMBA: With great enthusiasm and smiles on the faces of children, Janamashtami was celebrated at Govt. Boys Middle School Kaili Mandi Samba. On the occasion school teachers led by Headmaster Bishan Gupta with active involvement of young teachers Rupali Sambyal, Babita Kumari, Rohini Bandral and others organised a kite making competition on the occasion within their resources. Head-master of the school appreciated the efforts of young teachers which is evident from the facts that the school has increased the enrollment from 27 to 61 during this year only.
RAMBAN: An impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out on the occasion of Krishna Janamashtami on Thursday which started from Ragh-unath Temple Ramban and after passing through various markets culminated at the temple. Before the Shobha Yatra, Pooja was performed by number of devotees.
Meanwhile impressive Jhan-kis were displayed by various temple committees and religious organisations in which the large number of devotees participated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour. They were chanting religious hymns and singing Bhajans. The people in different bazaars had erected welcome gates to greet the Shoba Yatra.
The Yatra was given a welcome by the members of Muslim community where prominent members of the community had gathered to greet the Shoba Yatra to keep the traditional and age old brotherhood alive for which Ramban has always given a lead in testing times.
BHADARWAH: Like other parts of the State, the Krishna Janamashtami was celebrated traditionally with religious fervour and enthusiasm throughout Chenab Valley amid tight security arrangements by the respective administrations.
At Bhadarwah, the Jhanki of Lord Krishna was taken out from the famous Vasuki Nag Temple Ghatha in a fully decorated chariot by the devotees. The Jhanki started with traditional Pooja Archana of Lord Krishna by religious scholars in the famous Temple.
Hundreds of devotees including prominent citizens and leaders of various political parties and social organisations participated in the procession(Jhanki) which was started from Vasuki Nag Temple Ghatha and passed through Udrana, Radio Station, Kotli, New Bus Stand, Seri Bazaar and culminated at Vidya Mandir School Jai Road Bhadarwah.
The Jhankis were also taken out from Shankhoja, Mat-hola, Bheja, Manthla, Haliy-an, Dalain, Thubba and Lag-saroo areas of Bhadarwah to celebrate auspicious day of Janamashtami.
The people enroute showered flowers from the rooftops on the Jhanki and paid obeisance to Lord Krishna to seek His blessings.
The devotees en-route danced to the beat of drums and recited Bhajans and Kirtan in praise of Lord Krishna.
Similar Jhankis were taken out from Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Drabshalla, Batote, Assar, Bagger, Kheleni, Seri, Bhalla, Kulhand and other areas of Chenab Valley to celebrate auspicious day of Krishna Janamashtami.
KATHUA: Brahma Kuma-ris celebrated Janamashtami in Kathua with religious fervour and enthusiasm under the guidance of BK Veena Didi Ji ,the Director Of Brahmakumaris Centres of District Kathua. ADC Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan and a large number of devotees visited the local centre on College Road and Paid obeisance at the specially made Jhankis depicting the life and works of Lord Krishna.
R S PURA: Janamashtami was celebrated with festivity in the town of R.S Pura on Thursday. Special Pujas were conducted in Shri Krishna Temples. At the Devi-Dwara Temple, Chohala, Gandli, Railway Line Patri and Shiv Nagar Temple Puja and Tilak Abhishek were held. A colourful procession was held as part of the Maha Shobha Yatra by the various religious organisations in the city in the afternoon. MLA R S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat was specially present to grace the occasion and participated in the Jhankis.
Youths were seen clicking Selfies with MLA R S Pura, Dr.Gagan Bhagat who attended each and every one who were present in the procession and in the R.S Pura Bazaar.
Similar functions were reported from village Gandli, Salehar, Kotli Shah Doula, Satraiyan ,Kotli Gala Bana, Chak Agra, Badyal Brahmna, and other villages around R S Pura.
On the occasion Sr. VHP Leader Hem Raj Khajuria, BJP R S Pura Mandal Pradhan Natharam, City President Inder Sudan, BJYM Mandal Pradhan Abhishek Gupta, Hardev Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Bis-han Dass, Manoj Kumar, Raj Kumar Sharma, Manmohan Choudhary, Gurdeep Saini, Noubat Ram, Manjeet Singh and Vinod Sharma were also present.
POONCH: A Shobha Yatra was taken out on the occasion of Janamashtami from San-atan Dharam Sabha Poonch which passed through Quila Bazaar, Khakha Naban, Bus Stand, Shiv Mandir, Laxmi Mandir Parade Ground and Main Market. A large number of people from all walks of life participated in the Shobha Yatra chanting Bhajan Kirtan. Number of refreshment stalls were established enroute including the one by Sikh Youth Front. District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Mohd Haroon Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Gurwinderjeet Singh, SSP J. S Johar, SDS President Satish Sassan, Dashnami Akhara President Basant Ram, Amar Singh Josh, K.K Kapoor, Abdul Razak Khaki, Mohd Amin Matgrey, Tehsildar Jehangir Khan, Sukhwinder Singh, Gagandeep Singh, Mohinder Singh and others were present in the rally.
NOWSHERA: A Shobha Yatra was taken out in Nowshera from historical Raghunath Mandir. Large number of devotees participated in the Yatra singing Bhagan Kirtan.
On this occasion the MLA Nowshera addressed the devotees and raised religious slogans and asked them to remember the blessings of Bhagwan Krishna. Sanatan Dharam Sabha President Jagdish Chander Sahney also addressed the devotees and congratulated them on the occasion of Janamashtami.
