JAMMU: Wrestler Kulbir Singh of Domana Akhara claimed the 54th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal title defeating Asif of Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi in the main bout held at village Aghar Jitto in Tehsil Katra of district Reasi.
Dangal was organised in the memory of great revolutionary farmer, Baba Jitto and Bua Kouri as part of three days historic and famous mela. Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar was Chief Guest, who distributed cash prizes among the wrestlers in presence of Baba Mohan Lal, Krishan Singh (Pappu), ZEO Gopal Krishan Komal, Romesh Chander Sanmotra and Sunil Kohli.
Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. SP Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Tehsildar Katra, Mohit Raina and DSP Katra, Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma were Guests of Honour.
Prominent persons present were ZEO Kaka Ram, ZEO Gopal Krishan Komal, Sarpanch Rattan Singh, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri ) and Jugal Kishore Sharma (Bunty).
The second main bout was won by Paula of Himachal Pardesh who defeated Nirmal of Chandgi Ram Akhara Delhi while third bout went to Sonu of Delhi beating Munir Khan of Nagrota. Manjeet of Rohtak bagged the fourth main bout outplaying Billa of Jammu.
Members who helped for the conduct of this event included Baba Mohan Lal (chairman), Krishan Singh (Pappu), Sunil Kohli (president), ZEO Gopal Krishan Komal, Ramesh Kumar Sanmotra. Om Parkash Malkotra, (Retd. Forester), Jugal Kishore Sharma (Bunty), Gopal Krishan, Ishwar Dass, Mangat Ram Numberdar and Mohinder Kumar.
The bouts were officiated by Naresh Kumaar (Pappu Lakri) Deepak Wazir, Mohd. Fareed, Murli Dhar (Munna), Pawan Singh and Satvir Sharma.
