JAMMU: Massive protest was held by traders of Jammu West under the leadership of Sunil Dimple President Jammu West Assembly Movement against the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for harassing the innocent traders, damaging the business establishments and goods worth lakhs of rupees on the pretext of traffic reforms without any prior information and notice to the traders.
Traders raised slogans against the JMC, State Coalition Government, Deputy Chief Minister, sitting MLA Sat Pal Sharma and demanded MLA’s resignation.
Sunil Dimple addressing the protesting traders said the JMC demolition drive is the murder of democracy and held Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and the sitting MLA to the constituency Sat Pal Sharma responsible for this huge loss of the Jammu traders in demolition derive. He expressed anguish that Dy CM and MLA did not bother to visit the destruction site by the JMC and to listen the grievances of the traders.
He alleged that State Government has no traffic plan for Jammu city and is only doing harassment to the traders. He pleaded the High Court to come to the rescue of innocent Jammu traders whom the Jammu Municipal Corporation is harassing and save them from starvation.
Dimple strongly condemned the way in which JMC along with the police force launched the demolition derive in the markets of the West Assembly Constituency. He demanded immediate compensation to the traders whose business establishments were destroyed by the JMC.
The prominent protesters included Papu Virdi, Swarm Lal, Kala Singh, Ravi Angral, Sanjay Nagraj, Daleep Kumar, Rajinder Mahjan, Deep Kumar, Dr Shabir Khan, Dildar Singh, Mithu Kumar, Manjit Anand, Sanjay, Shiv Kumar, Shubam Kumar, Abhinav, Sahil Kumar and Kasturi Lal.
