JAMMU: The University of Jammu syndicate which met on Monday took up implementation of UGC regulations notified in the Gazatte of India from time to time, grant of onetime special chance to those who have a backlogs, re-evaluation in Two Year M.Ed. programme (non-choice based credit system) with effect from the Academic Session 2015-16 etc.
Chairing the 111th Syndicate meeting, Prof. R.D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, dwelled on various important academic and administrative matters and also laid stress on the overall infrastructural development of the University.
Prof. Keshav Sharma, Registrar University of Jammu presented 72 items in the meeting.
Besides giving nod to the various agenda items, the Syndicate also confirmed the action taken on the previous items and threadbare discussions were held with respect to the various items and the long pending cases regarding regularization of employees
Besides, confirmation of the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor regarding in some matters, the items regarding duties and responsibilities of Rectors/Directors of the Offsite Campuses, proposal for institutionalizing Prof. D.K Rampal Memorial Guest Lecture/Seminar in the University of Jammu on permanent basis, offer made by Poonam Jamwal, daughter of Kunwar Viyogi for making the endowment of Rs. 10,000,00 for institution of Kunwar Viyogi Sahitya Akademy Award in Dogri were endorsed by the Syndicate for further deliberations.

Choudhary, IAS, Commissioner Secretary to Govt, Finance Department, Financial Advisor (Universities), J&K Govt; Prof Darshana Kumari, Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Jammu; Prof. D.S Jamwal, Dean Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Jammu; Prof. Azra Nahaid Kamili, Dean Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Kashmir; Prof. Arif Wani, Dean Faculty of Engineering, University of Kashmir; Prof. Aruna Dubey, Principal, Govt. Degree College for Women, Parade, Jammu; Prof. Koushal Samotra, Principal, Govt College of Education, Canal Road, Jammu; Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Faculty of Law, Head, Department of Law, University of Jammu; Prof. Naseem Ahamed Shah, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kashmir; Prof. Ramnika Jalali, Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu; Prof G.M Bhat, Dept of Geology, University of Jammu; Prof. Renu Sachar, Department of Chemistry, University of Jammu.
The Joint Committee, Finance Committee and Screening Committee for promotion of officers were also held prior to the conduct of the 111th Syndicate meeting.
