Jammu Police holds ‘Chhoona Hai Aasmaan’ Season-5

JAMMU: Jammu Police continuing with its mission for channelising the energy of the youth in positive direction and providing them a platform to showcase their talent organised a Talent Hunt Programme (Chhoona Hai Aasman-Season 5) in which hundreds of contestants drawn from different parts of District Jammu including rural and border areas participated.
It is the endeavour of J and K Police to give platform to the budding artists, who aspire to perform at State and Country level. There were four categories of solo singing both for males and females, Under 16 years (Junior) and above 16 years (Senior) Categories.
There was a tremendous response from the general public over the initiatives of J and K Police. Hitesh Badyal, President, Nirvana Academy, Jammu and Kalpana Kesar, President Rashtriya Uchkaram Shiksha Abhiyan Channi Himmat were the adjudicators and 100 contestants made it to the final round.
Kunwar Langer topped in junior category male while junior category female slot was won by Mehvish Sharma. Winner of senior category male was Vishal Pandita while Sushmita clinched the senior category female slot. These winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 2,000 each. The 1st runner-up of junior category male was Satish Bhagat, in junior female category Varsha Jamwal stood as first runner up while in the senior category male Shubham Banergee was adjudged first runner up in senior category female Shreya Gandral won the same slot. They were awarded a cash prize of Rs.1,000 each, and the 2nd runner-up slot in Junior category female was jointly shared by Ridhima and Suhani, the senior category male by Rajesh Gaind and the senior category female by Vishakha Bandral, who were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 500 each. The winners of this programme have to participate in the range level competition.
Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, IPS DIG J-K-S Range, was the Chief Guest while SSP Jammu Uttam Chand, IPS was Guest of Honour who gave away the cash prizes and trophies to the winners.
SP Rural Rajeev Pandey, IPS SP. Headquarters Jammu R.C Kotwal, KPS, Dy. SP City North Vivek Shekhar, KPS, Dy. SP Headquarters Jammu Sugandha Mahajan, KPS and CPO NHRC Rajesh Gill were present. R.C Kotwal presented the vote of thanks.
