JAMMU: Jammu Muslim Front on Saturday staged protest against the Forest Minister, Lal Singh for misbehaving with the nomads.
Led by President, Jammu Muslim Front, Imran Qazi, the activists assembled at Talab Khatikan and raised slogans against the Forest Minister.
Talking to reporters here on Saturday, Qazi said that in Kashmir some Gujjar’s families asked Forest Minister for permission of use some waste woods (Balan) for their cooking on this issue the Forest Minister Lal Singh scolded them.
“When contracted with those families we came to know that Forest Minister not only scolded them but also abused them and threatened them by saying that you have forgotten the 1947 how you have been butchered,” Qazi alleged.
Qazi said that on the behalf of Muslim community I requested Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and Prime Minister Narindra Modi to take strict action against this kind of highhandedness.
“We want to say that this kind of nonsense by a person who is sitting on such a reputed post if behave like this then what would the fun of agendas, like ‘Safaka Saath Sabka Vikas’ this kind of acts are direct attacked on particular community and would be threaten to brotherhood and communal harmony in the State,” he said.
“We appeal to the Chief Minister that the matter should taken with serious note as it would be disturbed the ongoing developmental and peaceful process in the State as Amaranth Yatra is on the cards and lots of tourist are heading towards our State to spend some good time and a statement or behavior of Forest Minister will create a problem and would disturb the tourism and will also affect the earning of those who are dependent on the movement of tourist,” he added.
