JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and Jammu Migrants Action Committee declared that the Jammu migrants shall resort to indefinite ‘fast to death’ in front of Prime Minister’s House in New Delhi if the migrants are not provided the relief in cash which has been ordered by the High Court of J and K.
“Talwara Migrants Action Committee in cooperation with the Delhi Pradesh Panthers Party shall resort to ‘fast unto death’ from 15th August 2016 if Jammu migrants fail to receive justice,” Anita Thakur General Secretary JKNPP told reporters here today.
“The High Court of J and K had also ordered to pay an interest at the rate of 9 per cent from the date of default in 2004 to the migrants of Jammu,” she said.
She accused the BJP-PDP Government for betraying the interest of the Jammu migrants and directly violating the judgment of the Supreme Court and the HC. The Panthers leaders said that the J and K Government has not paid any relief, nor in cash, nor in kind, since January 2016 even before the judgment of the J and K High Court on 20th April, 2016. They demanded that district administration Reasi immediately release the monthly relief both kind and cash in favour of the migrants immediately without further delaying the matter. P.K Ganju Vice-President, Balwan Singh Chairman Talwara Migrant Action Committee, Jagdev Singh President Migrant Action committee and Sumitra Devi Secretary Migrant Action Committee were also present in the press conference.
