Jammu & Kashmir Bank organises workshop on Forex

JAMMU: One day workshop for foreign exchange customers was organised by J and K Bank here at its Jammu Zonal Office on Monday. The workshop was organised in association with local trade bodies.
The workshop was mainly conducted to enlighten the exporter community about various facilities and provisions relating to foreign exchange business.
Guest speakers from RBI, DGFT, ECGC of India and J and K Bank spoke on the occasion. J and K Bank Vice President Rakesh Gandotra welcomed the guests and the participants. He said that J and K Bank has been at the forefront in helping out the exporter community in the state and this workshop was another step in this direction.
He also informed the gathering that J and K Bank has always acted as a socially relevant institution in the State and as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility it has taken many initiatives in formulating easy finance schemes for various MSE and MSME sectors, which help an entrepreneur to avail hassle free finance from its Business Units.
Chaman Lal Officer DGFT Jammu delivered a lecture on the trade policy and apprised the participants about the recent amendments to it. Raka Mehta Officer RBI delivered a lecture on the various provisions of FEMA and regulatory aspects in handling the Foreign exchange transactions. Karanjit Singh AVP J and K Bank delivered a lecture on the export trade facilities available to the exporter community and provisions of UCPDC 600. Paul Lakra ECGC apprised the participants about various policies offered by ECGC of India.
