JAMMU: Two senior judo players from Jammu, Shweta Thakur and Danish Sharma have been selected to represent the country in the international university competition to be held at Gwanjhu in South Korea from 3rd to 14th July, 2015.
Both these star judokas of University of Jammu have been invited for the month-long coaching camp, prior to the competition, at Amritsar from 1st to 30th June.
The team consisted of 14 players, including seven girls, has been selected considering their performance in the inter-university competition held under the banner of Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Both these selected players from the State were trained at Regional Coaching Centre (RCC), MA Stadium during all these years.
Meanwhile, these judokas were felicitated by the General Secretary of the Association, Vikas Gupta. Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma was special guest while Kurpali Singh, Suraj Bhan Singh and Ritika Slathia (both judo coaches) were also present.
