Jammu Division to run Special Holi Trains to New Delhi and Varanasi

JAMMU: Offering a festive gift to passengers ahead of Holi 2026, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has announced the operation of special reserved trains from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi and Varanasi to facilitate smooth and convenient travel during the peak holiday rush.
According to railway officials, special train numbers 04081/04082 will operate between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi. Train No. 04081 will run from New Delhi to Katra with 16 trips from February 21 to March 8, departing at 11:45 PM and arriving at 12:00 PM the next day. Train No. 04082 will operate from Katra to New Delhi with 16 trips from February 22 to March 9, departing at 9:20 pm and reaching at 10:00 am the following day. The trains will halt at major stations including Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu, and Udhampur.
Additionally, special train numbers 04603/04604 will run between Varanasi and Katra. Train No. 04603 will operate four trips from February 24 to March 8, departing Varanasi at 5:00 am and reaching Katra at 6:00 am the next day. Train No. 04604 will run four trips from February 22 to March 6, departing Katra at 6:15 PM and arriving in Varanasi at 7:00 PM the following day. En route, the trains will stop at key stations across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.
To further promote pilgrimage tourism, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has also introduced a full-fare tourist train (No. 00913) from Pratapnagar, Gujarat to Katra via Amritsar.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said the special trains aim to ease festival congestion and enhance passengers’ chances of securing confirmed tickets. Tickets can be booked via the IRCTC website, mobile app, or through NTES and helpline 139.
