Jammu City to get 8 receiving stations

JAMMU: Jammu City will have eight 33/11 KV receiving stations at Shakti Nagar, Manda, Barnai, Sunjwan, Subash Nagar- Polura, Raika-Greater Jammu, Residency area and Dayabsar. This was decided at a meeting held to review the status of the proposed projects under the Restructured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) in Jammu division.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Pawan Kotwal, while reviewing the meeting on Saturday stressed the need for expeditious completion of these projects.
He asked Power Development Department (PDD) to consistently follow the transfer of land identified for construction of Receiving Stations in Jammu city and its peripheries.
The Divisional Commissioner was chairing a meeting convened by him to review the implementation of R-APDRP projects and discuss the bottlenecks hampering the transfer of sites by different departments to PDD for construction of 8 receiving stations around Jammu city.
The meeting was attended by senior PDD functionaries, police, Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Jammu Municipality (JMC) Wild Life Department and other parties.
The Divisional Commissioner also instructed the police and district administration to help PDD in the eviction of encroachments at the identified sites, if any.
Dr Kotwal directed each of these departments to cooperate with the PDD for early start of work on all these projects.
