Jammu burning in sweltering summer: Dimple

JAMMU: The public of Jammu West under the leadership of Sunil Dimple, President, Jammu West Assembly Movement, held a protest against the PDD, PHE ministries for unscheduled power cuts and acute scarcity of drinking water in the area.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple alleged total failure of the PDD and PHE ministries adding that people are facing 10 to 12 hours power cuts daily in this sweltering summer. He said inspite of bold assurances announced by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh that twenty 24 hours uninterrupted power supply will be made available to the people nothing happened on the ground. He alleged Jammu people are facing long duration power cuts and all the ministers, MLAs with their families are enjoying cool breeze in Kashmir Valley and drinking the Chashma Shahi water. Dimple appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to come out of the alliance with BJP as Centre has refused to return the power projects to the state as per BJP-PDP agenda of alliance. He demanded to install new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to overcome the problem of power curtailment. He also demanded construction of Chenab water supply project of Akhnoor to solve the water problem in Jammu city. The other prominent leaders who attended the protest were Ramesh Chander Kohli, Harbans Tondon, Sham Saroop, Ashok Khana, Kulwant Sharma, Babu, Vicky, Ram Kumar Das, Dev Raj, Mukesh Kumar, Raman Gupta, OP Gupta Bansi Lal and others.
