Jammu boy selected in TFA

JAMMU: Young Ravi Rana of a Jammu based football club, Shaheen FC, has been
selected in the prestigious Tata Football Academy (TFA) following nation-wide selection process.
With this selection, Ravi
has become third footballer from the State to be selected by the TFA.
As per the reports reaching here, Kamaljeet Singh was first footballer, who was selected by the TFA in 1986.
He was followed by the selection of J&K Bank goal-keeper, Vikramjeet Singh in the same academy.
“Earlier, a good number of boys from Jammu reported for the selection trials. Finally, Ravi got a call from the TFA,”
said Ravi’s coach, Shahnaz Iqbal.
Ravi was also guided in initial years of the game by Rakesh Kumar
and Manoj Kumar of Shaheen FC. Ravi has already left Jammu to join other selected boys from the country for further training.
