Jammu boy Hiteshwar guides India to clinch fourth Roll Ball World Cup

JAMMU: Ace skater, Hiteshwar Singh brought laurels to the State of Jammu and Kashmir and the country to guide the Indian team to clinch fourth Roll Ball World Cup held at Dhaka in Bangladesh, recently.
India maintained its supremacy in Roll Ball by winning fourth Roll Ball World Cup title at Dhaka by defeating Iran (8-7) by virtue of last minute goal in a nail biting finish.
Roll Ball World Cup which from 18th to 25th February 2017 saw 39 countries from Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, Arab participating in it.
Enroute to final India defeated Oman, Slovenia, Kenya, Argentina, Senegal and Uganda. In semi final India defeated Kenya by 8-4.
Hiteshwar Singh, who got his right wrist fractured after a massive collision with a Kenyan player, refused to go for plaster and opted for playing after taking pain killers in the final.
In the final match against Iran, India trailing 6-2 at half time and Hiteshwar Singh braving his injury played a pivoted role for India and scored two crucial goals taking the game from Iran in the last minute to retain the title.
The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Shiekh Hassina gave away the prizes to winners and runners up.
