Jammu based video journalist invited for national workshop

JAMMU: Ashish Kohli, a video journalist working with Day and Night TV channel in Jammu bureau has been invited to take part in two day national workshop on female feticides organised by Centre for Women’s Development Studies (CWDS), New Delhi. The workshop is organized at Varanasi from 31st Oct to 2nd Nov. CWDS involvement with the subject of missing girls is over three decades long. This includes both scholarly as well as advocacy based interventions starting from the 1980s.
Ashish Kohli, who is a post graduate in journalism and mass communication started his career with Siti Cable and had worked in Take1 Channel and for the past four years is working as senior cameraperson in Day and Night news channel. He has also worked in CNN-IBN. Since 2001 census, J and K has been experiencing decline in sex ratio and no effective action against stopping this extreme form of violence against women.
This workshop will help in sensitising journalist to take the social cause for further.
