JAMMU: Acting tough against the encroachers, the district administration Jammu on Wednesday retrieved around 151 Kanal state land during an anti-encroachment drive at Chowadi in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavasa.
ADC L&O Minga Sherpa; SSP Chandan Kohli; SDM South, Abhishek Abrol; DLM JDA Vivek Modi; Tehsildar Bahu, Rohit Sharma and other senior officers from Police and Revenue departments were also present on the occasion.
As per the District Administration out of 150 Kanal 17 Marla state land retrieved, 70 Kanal land was handed over to JDA. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned officials to take strict action against encroachers of the state land. She said that the J&K Government has decided to adopt zero tolerance against the encroachment and has instructed authorities to take stern action against the encroachers. She asked the officers from police and revenue to stay vigilant against the encroachment and take immediate action against it.
