JAMMU: The selected candidates for Jail Warden on Monday staged a protest demonstration outside Press Club in support of their demand of releasing final selection list.
The protesting candidates raised anti-government and anti-department slogans, warned the government not to test their patience and demanded early release of the final selection list. Addressing the protestors, Ashwani Kumar alleged that their repeated requests to government remain unheard, while a number of candidates were nearing getting over-aged.
“Despite the fact that no recruitment has taken place in the Prison Department since 1995 and the department is facing acute shortage of manpower with 2000 vacancies, the state government is adopting delaying tactics,” he said.
Selected candidates urged Director General Prison P.L Gupta to personally look into matter for getting the selection list released.
