Ist State level 50-over cricket tourney for CM’s Cup ;Anchal’s hat trick guides Shastri Club to 60 runs win

JAMMU: Brilliant bowling spell from Anchal Singh, who took seven wickets including hat trick thereby guided Shastri Cricket Club to big 60 runs win against Media XI in a low scoring game in the ongoing First State level 50-over a side cricket tournament for Chief Minister’s Cup at Country Cricket Academy, Gharota, near here on Wednesday.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Shastri was bowled out for a small total of 95 runs with Anchal Singh and Sachin contributing maximum 21 and 18 runs respectively. For Media XI, Ankur claimed three wickets while Rahul Sawhney and Ranjeet Singh shared two each.
In reply to a small total of Shastri Club, Media XI surrendered to the bowling wrath of Anchal Singh, who made it seven wicket haul, including hat trick. Anchal virtually reduced Media XI to a small total of 35 runs help Shastri made it a big 60 runs win. This tournament was organised in memory of late Mufti Mohd Sayeed by the J and K State Sports Council in collaboration with Country Cricket Academy at village Gharota. The winner of the CM Trophy shall become rich by Rs 1 lakh cash reward.
