So called modernisation is only modern in trivial things but still backward in ideas.
Modernisation is what? It is change towards economic, political and social systems. Our society is changing day by day.These changes bring many developments in our society but in case of women it just remains the same as in the ancient time.
We often talk about women empowerment but it is all illusion. Acts related to women safety are just the object and are not allowed to move. These Acts for women enacted by the government is all that what we see with our open eyes however if we see behind the curtain we will find all the crimes against women at offices, streets, etc. Not only at offices and street, women are not safe even at her own home. Everyday we hear about gang rape, sexual harassment, assault against women, when many people give their judgement that gang rape happened because girl was wearing jeans or short dress, what if she wears Salwar suit then she would not be raped or harresd by men? I really don’t know the mindset of such people who say women should remain in their limits and they have to adjust. Why they don’t say these things to their sons?
I am an eye witness to one such case when I saw a boy passing a lewd remark on a young girl riding a scooty.
In this modernisation does one becomes speechless? What are we waiting for and why do’nt we act? Shame on those who think girls are objects. Such people are animals in the form of humans, devils in this society! I question such kind of people that would they tolerate if someone passes such remarks on their
daughters?
Girl is not a commodity to be played with. Make this society the society of peace, take a step forward, change your thoughts respect all women.
Despite formation of various effective rules and regulations by the government to handle and control the crimes against women, the number and frequency of crimes against women are increasing day by day. Women’s status in the country has been more offensive and dreadful in the last few years. It has decreased the confidence level of women for safety in their own country. Women are in doubt for their safety and have fear while going outside their home (office, market, etc). We should not blame the government because women safety is not the responsibility of government only, it is the responsibility of each and every Indian citizen especially men who need to change their mind set.
