IRP-14th Bn’s sports tournament concludes

JAMMU: Commandant IRP-14th Bn., Sunil Dutt, SSP asked students to take part in sports to keep themselves physically fit besides channelising energy in positive direction.
Sunil Dutt was speaking as Chief Guest in the closing ceremony of three-day Sports Tournament organised by IRP-14th Bn under Civic Action Programme at Armed Police Complex (APC), Channi Himmat, here.
He appreciated the efforts of officers/officials for making the tournament a grand success and called this tournament as a major step in giving the exposure and a platform to local teams and channelising the energy of youth in positive direction.
Different sports events like athletics, kabaddi, cricket, volleyball, etc. were simultaneously held between players from different schools in the vicinity of APC Channi Himmat.
Dutt accompanied by the officers/officials of the unit distributed trophies, medals, track suits, school bags and sports kits to the winner and runner-up teams of the tournament.
“The tournament aims at providing an opportunity to students for showcase their skills. It evoked good response and saw enthusiastic participation of youngsters,” said Dutt.
The officers present in the valediction function were SPs Prabh Dayal Sharma, Yogesh Sharma, Paramjeet Singh, DySPs Joginder Singh Chib, Wajahat Hussain, Harvinder Singh and Inspr. D.K Bhardwaj-RI of the unit.
