Jammu: The moments of glory for Prime Minister Narinder Modi during G20 and mega event at the Allphones Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park makes the chest of every Indian, minus Sonia Gandhi’s Congress men and Imam Bukhari’s supporters, expanded to 56 inches. Each step of Modi in Australia, after astonishingly successful trip to the US in September last, steered India high on the ladder of glory but back home he remains a persona non grata for certain most pampered sections of the society.
The day- Children’s Day- desperate Congress tried to belittle Narendra Modi, even at the cost of undermining the institution of Prime Minister, by not inviting him to celebration of 125th Birth Anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Ben Doherty capsuled his assessment in the Guardian about a man who is now a phenomenon. Ben writes, “Whatever may have occurred at Godhra, Modi is the legitimate, democratically elected prime minister of India and a hugely powerful leader on the world stage. He is the man with whom other leaders must deal when they come to India, the man who will likely rule the emerging economic giant for a decade. However unlikely it may once have seemed, Modi is one of the most popular figures at this G20. A leader others want to see, and be seen with”.
The Congress did not only ignore the Prime Minister mischievously but tried to score a point in every forum why they did so. They found ‘communal’ Modi unfit for the celebrations being observed to commemorate the anniversary of ‘secular’ Nehru. They found nothing wrong in extending invitation to China which backstabbed the first Prime Minister in 1962. They found common cause with Trinamol Congress, which is adamant to make West Bengal home of anti-Indian Bangladeshis. Congress made a common cause with Maulana Syed Bukhari, Imam of Jamia Masjid Delhi, who stamped his preference for Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharief over the premier of own country while inviting him to grace the coronation of his son as Naib Imam on 22nd November. Sheer malice and contempt for the Chief Executive of the 1.25 billion strong India! In fact, Congress emulated the Delhi Imam, who believes Modi as perpetrator of 2002 Gujarat riots. Both Congress and Imam Bukhari are not only undermining the Prime Minister but show contempt for the country’s judicial process which has found nothing against Modi as far as Gujarat riots are concerned. The decade-long Congress had tried its worst to implicate Narendra Modi by using the machinery at its command but failed in nailing him. In the process, Congress got itself annihilated from political landscape of the country.
The psycho-analysis of the Congress, if carried out, will hugely reveal the element of demoralisation in its rank and file about bleak prospect for long because of Modi phenomenon, which is riding an unbridled tiger. He is the Prime Minister who makes his presence distinct amid the mightiest of mighty around the world. That is what exactly happened when Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott greeted Modi at the G20 venue by extending a warm hug. The world media watched with excitement the demeanour of Prime Minister Modi who kept interacting with President Obama and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Modi is the most sought after Head of the Nation at the global stage notwithstanding prejudiced millions back home refusing to accept him as their Prime Minister. He has emerged as a force to reckon with. He has become a partner in shaping the destiny of humanity around the world. Is this the cause of irritation for Congress besides the Imam and his ilk which is manifesting in the form of frustration, jumping the limits of nationalism?
