POONCH: Superb 53 runs innings from Irfan on Tuesday guided Mendhar Club to five four wickets win against Koniyian Club in the ongoing Police Martyrs Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Koniyian Club made 116 runs. Mukhtar and Janu were main scorers with 28 and 22 runs respectively. F0r Mendhar club, Sadam took four wickets while Basharat clinched two.
In reply, Mendhar Club overhauled the opponent total in 15.3 overs losing six wickets with the help of 53 runs coming from Irfan. For Koniyian Club, Nishu and Raja shared two wickets each. Today’s match was officiated by Narinder Kumar and Ishtaiq Ahmed.
ARTO Poonch, Jhangir Khan was Special Guest in today’s match while Chairman of Shaheed Manjit Singh Memorial Volleyball Club Poonch, Mohd Tariq, DySP Dr Saleem, DySP Mohd Rafi Giri, Inspector Anzar Hussain, SI Chetan Kumar were among others present.
