NOWSHERA: Govt. Degree College Nowshera celebrated August 12, 2017 as International Youth Day in the form of a symposium on the topic HIV/AIDS. Dr. Khalil Ahmed welcomed Principal, staff and students of the college. Dr. K.R Sharma, the Principal of the College impressed upon the students to create awareness regarding the modes of spread and its preventive measures in the society. Ten students spoke on this topic. The function was carried out under the banner of Red Ribbon of the College. In the last, vote of thanks was presented by Anupama Sharma.
BANIHAL: Govt. Degree College Banihal in collaboration with J and K SACS under Red Ribbon Club organised a gala function, wherein college students delivered speeches related to the theme of International Youth Day-2017, ‘Youth Building Peace’. The event was followed by peace rally displaying the placards emphasising the role of youth in peace building and awareness pertaining to HIV/AIDS.
The occasion was graced by the Principal GDC Ramban (Dr. Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi), Guest of Honor BMO Banihal Dr. M.Y Khan .BMO Banihal delivered a health and informative lecture on HIV/AIDS. Principal GDC Ramban stressed upon awareness, education for peace and development. The dais was shared by Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch (Asstt. Prof. Urdu) and Ajay Kumar (Asstt. Prof Sociology) highlighting the role of youth as active agents of peace. The event concluded with the certificate distribution to the participants and vote of thanks by Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed Sohil.
UDHAMPUR: The Red Ribbon Club of GCW Udhampur celebrated International Youth Day, 2017 in Collaboration with J and K State AIDS Control Society. On this occasion, a poster making competition on the theme- ‘Youth Building Peace’ was held in the college. Principal of the College Dr. Chander Shekher was the Chief Guest while Prof. Ashni Devi, Dr. Ashok Kumar and Prof. Brinder Kumar were the members of the jury. Earlier Dr. Kewal Kumar, Nodal Officer, RRC presented welcome address and threw light on importance of celebrating youth day. In all 30 students of the college participated in the poster making competition.
On the basis of judgment of jury members, Zubiksha Thakur ( Sem-V), Devanshi Verma ( Sem-1), Ankita Rani (Sem-1) respectively were adjudged first, second and third in the competition.
RAMNAGAR: In relation to the celebration of International Youth Day, Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of the GDC Ramnagar under the supervision of Nodal Officer Dr. Pankaj Sharma organised a programme on role of youth in building peace. Principal of the College Prof. Tara Nath was the Chief Guest in the programme and Prof. Kewal Kumar was the Guest of Honour.
A number of students of BA/ Bsc/ B.com/BCA of the college participated in the function. On the occasion Prof. Yash Paul, Dr. Ajay Sharma and Dr. Naresh Sharma expressed their views to all present about the importance of the youth in constructive development and building peace. Prof. Kusha Sharma and Prof. Yash Paul besides the students also enchanted motivational slogans and a song on youth power.
KATHUA: On the occasion of International Youth Day, Red Ribbon Club along with NSS units of Degree College Kathua in collaboration with J and K state AIDS Control Society organised a poster making competition.
The theme of the poster making was Youth Building Peace. Seventeen students members of Red Ribbon Club Kathua participated in the competition. Prof. Assa Ram Sharma, Principal, Govt. Degree college Kathua was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The completion was held under the supervision of nodal officer RRC and NSS programme Officers Prof. Rajesh Chalotra, Prof. Shikha and Prof. Manmohan Singh. In the competition Ankita, Neha and Pallavi were adjudged first, second and third by the penal of judges namely Dr. Rajesh Manhas, Dr, Suraya Partap and Dr. Sumit Sharma.
