POONCH: Childline Poonch (National Development Youth Club) organised an awareness cum cultural programme on the eve of celebration of international Human Rights Day with collaboration DLSA in the premises of Jamia Anwar- Ul- Uloom Poonch. Mehboob Hussain PLV was the chief Guest on the occasion. Besides Adv .Bhanu Partap General secretary Bar Association Poonch, Adv Bhanu Partab highlighted the importance of human rights and fundamental rights.
On the occasion Childline organised culture programme to aware the general masses on the protection of Child rights various child rights under JJA Act has been discussed and various measures has been taken to protect the rights of children. Childline Poonch team Ashiq Hussain, Amina Tabasam and Tahir kohli also aware on the various activities of CHILDLINE 1098 toll free number in the best interest of children in need of care and protection.
The chief guest on the occasion also highlighted the role of CHILDLINE and children rights and various ways to protect the rights of children.
Adv. Bhanu partap also appreciated the activities of CHILDLINE Poonch and highlighted various programmes for the welfare of children and rights of children. All the other participants resource persons highlighted in detail s the protection of child rights and child friendly space. The programme was highly appreciated and benifitted by the public.
RAJOURI: On the occasion of World Human Rights day, Army drew a step closer in infusing a sense of bonding between Security forces and local populace, with local Rashtriya Rifles Battalion imparting knowledge about basic Human and Fundamental Rights of individuals. The HR day celebrations ware organised at Pine Wood School, Sabra (Rajouri). The event was enthusiastically attended by locals from of Village Malikpura, Dharana, Rellan and Karla. Adhering to the COVID-19 guidelines, 40 villagers from all age groups attended the event.
The attendees were appraised about Human Rights, Fundamental Rights, Rights to Equality, Rights to Freedom, Rights against Exploitation, Rights to Freedom of Religion, Educational Rights and Rights to Constitutional Remedies. The Theme of World Human Rights Day 2020 “Standup for Human Rights” was also explained in detail to the attendees. The Sarpanch of Relan Village and other attendees praised Army for organising such an event and making their lives better from past two decades
MAHANPUR: Govt Degree College, Mahanpur conducted one-day awareness programme on Human Rights Day,10th December 2020 for the undergraduate students The theme of the programme was “Undestanding Human Rights: Educational and Global perspective”. The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr. R K Koul who highlighted the relevance of human rights in multi cultural and multi religious nation like India. Paramdeep Singh, BDO Mahanpur was the chief guest of the programme. Dr Piyush Kant Sharma, Asstt.Prof Political Science ,GDC Akhnoor and Aditya Sharma, Asstt. Prof.GDC Majra Mahadev, Uttarakhand were the key online speakers of the event. Dr. Piyush talked about the necessity of human rights and why they are essential in our lives. He mentioned Article 19 and positive and negative rights. Prof. Aditya talked about the importance of human rights in global perspective. An offline interactive awareness session was chaired by Dr. Neetika Verma who dealt with the concept of “Human Rights Education” and human rights in socio-economic, cultural and political sphere.
Paramdeep Singh addressed the students and made them aware about various practical aspects of human rights. He mentioned some major takeaways of programme, exhorted students to be vigilant about their rights as citizens by giving examples of Right to Information Act and redressal of various issues through online medium like Governor Grievance Cell, PGSA etc. The session ended with final vote of thanks by Prof. Rajni Sharma .
The members of the organizing committee were Dr. Neetika Verma, (Convener) Prof. Rajni Sharma and Prof. Anu Sharma . The faculty present were Dr. J S Soodan, Dr.Mohinder Kumar, Prof. Naresh Kumar, Dr. Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Dr.Wasim Iqbal, Prof Neha Mehra and Prof Anu Sharma. Limited number of students was invited keeping in view the current situation of the pandemic.
The non-teaching staff who were present were Ashok Kumar, Sunny Sharma, Surinder Kumar, Anu Radha , Sewa Ram , Sunita , Shiboo Din and Pankaj.
R S PURA: NSS Unit of Government Degree College R.S. Pura organized an online slogan writing competition on the eve of Human Rights Day under the guidance of the Principal Dr. Sunita Sudan and supervision of Prof. Bindu Kumari, NSS Programme Officer. NSS volunteers participated in the online competition with full zeal and enthusiasm and write beautiful slogans like NoHuman Should Be Without Rights, Women Rights Are Human Rights, Education is OurRight, Stoping Child Labour is our Fight etc. The principal of the college lauded the efforts of the NSS Volunteers.

GDC Akhnoor organized online poster making Competition on “Human Rights Day” under the ableguidance of worthy Principal Dr. Namarta. The poster making competition was organized by EBSB Club in collaboration with IQAC and NCC. The theme of the Human Rights Day 2020 was Recover Better – Stand Up for Human Rights. It related to COVID-19 pandemic and focused on the need to build back better by ensuring human rights are central to recovery efforts. The objective of the poster making competition was to exhibit the students’ talent besides an opportunity to learn about the human rights and its importance. This creative competition gets students thinking about the best practices to protect and promote the human rights in COVID-19 crisis as well as Post COVID world.
After the completion of the event, e-certificates were awarded to participants. The Principal Dr. Namarta applauded the participants for overwhelming enthusiasm in taking part in this poster making competition and appreciated Prof. Tarsem Lal – IQAC, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar – ANO NCC and Prof Pooja – Nodal Officer of EBSB Club for organizing this event.
Khour: NSS unit of GDC Khour celebrated Human Rights Day. On the occasion several online activities were undertaken. NSS volunteers and students of the college took the online Human Rights Pledge. Preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being was read and discussed. An awarding winning short documentary on human rights was also shown to the students. The day is an opportunity to reaffirm the significance of Human Rights. The event was organised by NSS, Programme Officer, Gurviner Kour under the guidance of Principal of the college, Prof. Hans Raj.
UDHAMPUR: Today Bharat Scouts and guides unit of Udhampur organized awareness campaign on the occasion of world Human rights day under the leadership of senior scout master Rakesh Singh .On the occasion Scouts and guides students displayed placard bearing slogans and Quotes regarding various human rights declared by United nations organization General assembly on 1948. Singh also organized quiz competition and Symposium regarding human rights to expand the knowledge of students about various principles of human rights “. ” Singh also urged District Administration to spread awareness among various educational institutions and Defense forces about human rights and consequences of their violation through guest Lectures of various agencies working on human rights.
Singh further said that “This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts. We will reach our common global goals only if we are able to create equal opportunities for all, address the failures exposed and exploited by COVID-19, and apply human rights standards to tackle entrenched, systematic, and intergenerational inequalities, exclusion and discrimination.”
“10 December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the world we want, the need for global solidarity as well as our interconnectedness and shared humanity” Singh added.
Singh also planted tree in the honour of agencies working in the field of human rights.
BILLAWAR: GDC Billawar on Thursday organized online video conference lecture by Dr. Navneet Kour, National Chairperson of National Human Rights and social justice, Global Peace Ambassador on the theme of “Recover Better – Stand Up For Human Rights 2020”
The whole event was started by the welcome address by Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal, GDC Billawar, where he welcomed Dr. Navneet Kour for sparing her valuable time to speak on the occasion of Human Rights Day and faculty members and students of the college.
Dr. Navneet Kour, very well, reccoginsed educationist, social worker, social activist, who countributed immensely on women empowerment, Skill development, Health and poverty allevation for last 17 years and is the National chair person of National Human Rights and Social Justice Council. She was also the former Director Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region and honoured by American Red Cross Society. She is also a ChairPerson of NGO DESH-KA- VIKAS and vise ChairPerson of NGO SAMAJ-SUDHAR . She won the APJ Abdul Kalam Azad Award for fighting Malnutration. She is also the Global, Peace Ambassador National Human Rights and MGGPF and Ambassador of Child and Women Welfare A SWARN-BHARAT-PARIVAR and won Yough Women achiever award three times and recently she was awarded with Global Gandhi Peace award.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Navneet Kour highlighted the importance of HUMAN RIGHTS especialy in this time of pandemic and encourages students andstaff members of college to work for weaker and marginal section of society. She also awared faculty of the college to work for lower and needed section of society. She also elaborates and suggested pathways to remove various social evils from society. She apprised the students and the faculty members for different startup programs and to carry their future with Skill oriented coerces under skill India mission through question asking session for their better future prospectus. Further a pledge had been taken on Human Rights by college faculty members and students of GDC Billawar. The whole programme was organised under the overall supervision of Prof. Sunil Uppal, Principal GDC Billawar and Coordinated by Prof. Yash Paul, Covernor Skill Courses and IQAC team members, Co-assisted by Prof. Rajni Kumari, Prof. Sindhu Kotwal, Prof Anil Kumar Verma, Prof Shiv Kumar Khajuria, Sujata, Ravi Kumar(PTI), and Technically Assisted by Sunil Singh. Principal of the college appreciated faculty, students and non-teaching staff members for organising such a event in short span of time. Vote of thanks was presented by Sujata.
Nagrota: Government Degree College Nagrota organized an online inter-college essay writing competition on international Human Rights Day, which is celebrated on 10th of December every year. On this day United Nations General Assembly adopted, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (URHR) in 1948. This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts.
Students from various colleges participated in this online essay writing competition and the certificates of appreciation were awarded to first three winners; Abhay Kumar, G.D.C Vijaypur (Samba), Shuram Mankotia G.D.C Billawar, and Riya Kaw, G.D.C Paloura. The Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Attar Singh Kotwal reinforced the importance of human rights. He stated that these are inalienable rights to which everyone is entitled and are essential for preserving the human dignity. He further emphasized that progress of a nation to a great extent is driven by the advancements on human rights.
REASI: District Legal Services Authority Reasi, under the Chairmanship of Kamlesh Pandit (Principal District and Sessions Judge) celebrated “World Human Rights Day” by organising a webinar which was attended by Police Officers and Para Legal Volunteers of district Reasi. On the occasion, Kamlesh Pandit, the Chairman threw light on the objective of celebrating Human Rights Day.
He said every individual deserves to enjoy the basic Human Rights and advised that one should not violate these rights. Besides this, the day was celebrated by organising an awareness camp at Court Complex Katra and the participants were apprised about the importance of the day.
