Inter Zone District Level Tournament concludes: Bhadarwah Zone wins U-17, U-14 Chess titles

BHADARWAH: Bhadarwah Zone lifted Chess titles in Under-17 and Under-14 categories and Badminton trophy in under-17 in the Inter-zone District Level Tournament for district Doda organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports Doda, here on Tuesday.
Two days event in the disciplines of kho-kho, kabaddi, badminton, volleyball, throw ball, carom and chess for under-17 and under-14 Boys was held at Government Higher Secondary School Boys Bhadarwah, in which 350 students from 10 zones of district Doda participated.
The event was organised under the supervision of DYSSO Doda, Ashok Kumar Kotwal and conducted by ZPEO Bhadarwah Pritam Singh. On the occasion, Principal GHSSB Bhadarwah, Shabnam Nigar was the Chief Guest who gave away prizes to winner and runner up teams.
The Chief Guest highlighted the importance of games and sports in the present time. She urged upon the students to take part in more and more sports activities so that they will remain physically fit.
The matches were officiated by the technical team comprising Murtaza Qadir, Abdul Haq, Aftab Alam, Majid Aslam, Jai Kumar, Sanjay Kumar, Tariq Mehmood, Mudassir Maqbol, Pitamber Kumar, Asha Devi, Salma Ruby, Shahida Parveen, Reeta Devi, Reenu Bala, Ramesha Devi, Subash Chander, Suresh Padha, Neeta Manhas, Susheela Kumari, Girdhari Lal, Rajni Devi and Suresh Kumar.

UNDER-17: Kabaddi: Bhala Zone defeated Bhagwa Zone. Badminton: Bhaderwah Zone defeated Bhallesa Zone. Kho-Kho: Ghat Zone outplayed Bhalla Zone. Volleyball: Bhallesa Zone trounced Bhatyas Zone. Chess: Bhadarwah Zone downed Doda Zone.
UNDER-14 Badminton: Bhallesa Zone blanked Bhaderwah Zone. Kho-Kho: Bhalla Zone defeated Ghat Zone. Chess: Bhaderwah zone outplayed Bhalla Zone.
