Inter-zonal girls’ competition gets underway

JAMMU: District level inter-zonal competition, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), in the disciplines of kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball in girls under-14 and under-17 categories started at Government Higher Secondary School Domana, here on Friday.
Principal of host Domana School, Ajeet Kumar Sharma declared open the meet. He interacted with the participating teams, especially those from far off zones of Jammu District.
The three-day competition is organised by district officer, Sukhdev under the guidance of Deputy Director, DYSS, Rishi Kumar. In all, 650 girls drawn from 14 zones of district Jammu are taking part in the competition.
The Detailed Results:
Kho-Kho Under-17: Jourian Zone beat Chowki Choura 06-02; Gandhi Nagar beat RS Pura 06-05; Bishnah Zone beat Marh Zone 03-02; Jammu Zone beat Arnia Zone one turn and eight points; Miran Sahib Zone beat Satwari Zone by one turn and four points.
Kho-Kho Under-14: Akhnoor Zone beat Chowki Choura 03-02; Marh Zone beat Bishnah Zone 07-02; Khour Zone beat Dansal Zone 04-03; Satwari Zone beat Arnaia by one turn and three points; Gandhi Nagar Zone beat RS Pura by one turn and two points.
