Inter School Tournaments of Zone Hiranagar Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar shines in Volleyball

HIRANAGAR: As part of routine, the Department of Youth Services and Sports started Inter-school Zone Level Tournament in the disciplines of kho kho, kabaddi, volleyball, wrestling and cricket for u/14 and 17 years for boys and girls of Zone Hiranagar at Sports Stadium, here on Thursday.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kathua Sunil Kumar and Organising Secretary is Sukesh Kumar, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Hiranagar.
The tournament was inaugurated by Tehsildar Hiranagar, Jitender Mishra in the presence of ZPEO Sukesh Kumar, Avnesh Kumar, Sanjeev Sunny and Nirender Singh.
As many as 371 players of 33 schools of zone Hiranagar participated on the first day of tournament while today the matches were played in the disciplines of kho-kho, kabaddi and volleyball for boys.
Infant Jesus Higher Secondary School Hiranagar dominated the day by winning under-14 and 17 volleyball titles. Today’s matches were officiated by Avnesh Kumar, Dharminder Singh, Manohar Lal, Uttam Singh, Narinder Singh, Darshan Kumar, Sunita Sharma, Kunti Devi, Kewal Krishan, Rakesh Kumar Raju, Manjeet Kour, Rajesh Kumar, Omkar Singh, Nalini Kotwal and Omkar Nath.
Today’s Results.
Volleyball U/17: Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar defeated Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Marheen by 2-0.
U/14: Infant Jesus HSS Hiranagar outplayed Government Middle School (GMS) Phalapur by 2-0.
Kho Kho U/17: GHSS Hiranagar beat Government High School (GHS) Chadwal by seven points.
KABADDI U/17: GHSS Marheen trounced GHSS Hiranagar by two points. Sanjeev Sunny, Rajiv Mehta, Manmohan Singh, Ajeet Kumar, Sanjay Sharma were also present on the occasion.
