POONCH: Annual inter-school competition of Surankote Zone got underway at Government High School, Sanai under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), here. Around 500 boys and girls drawn from 15 participating schools of the zone shall compete in under-14 and under-17 categories in the disciplines of kho-kho, volleyball and kabaddi.
Earlier, the competition was declared open by Headmaster of the host GHS Sanai School, Nasreen Akhtar, who was Chief Guest.
The opening day competition was officiated by the technical panel comprising Mohd Rafi Dar, Majid Dar, Kewal Krishan, Rajinder Singh, Narinder Singh, Sanjay Misri, Vipan Kumar and Daljeet Singh.

UNDER-14: BOYS: Volleyball: HSS Lathoong beat HS Sanai 3-0. Kho-Kho: HS Sanai beat Army Goodwill School Potha by five points. Kabaddi: HS Sanai beat MS Samote by 17 points. GIRLS: Volleyball: GMS Sanai beat HS Kalai 2-0.
UNDER-17: BOYS: Volleyball: Army Goodwill Potha beat HSS Surankote 3-1. Kho-Kho: HS Sanai beat Army Goodwill School Potha by two points. Kabaddi: HS Sanai beat HSS Surankote by one point. GIRLS: Kho-Kho: Volleyball: HS Sanai beat GHSS Surankote 2-0. Kho-Kho: Army Goodwill Potha beat HS Sanal by one point.
