REASI: Annual inter-school competition of Mahore and Arnas zones of district Reasi got underway in under-14 and under-17 boys’ categories in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling.
Around 300 students of different educational institutions of the twin zones are participating in the competition.
At Arnas, the tournament was declared open by Headmaster Govt High School Chinkah, Krishan Singh, who was Chief Guest. He also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) for organising regular sports activities in this hilly zone of Reasi District.
Others present in the opening ceremony were Lecturer Gurvinder Singh, Master Shiv Dutt Sharma, Kaka Ram, Chinta Devi, Neelam Devi, Kuldeep Singh, Krishan Singh and other prominent citizens. While in zone Mahore, Principal Higher Secondary School Mahore, Mukhtiar Ahmed was Chief Guest. Also present were Manohar Lal ZPEO Chassana and Om Parkash, ZPEO Reasi as also Abdul Rashid Shiekh, Mohd Akabar.
Pir Panchal School emerged winner of under-14 kabaddi event in zone Mahore defeating Mountaineering Convent School 18-15 in the final.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Pardeep Nag, Ashok Kumar, Tour Kumar, Pushkar Raj, Romesh Chander, Anil Singh, Des Raj, Kuldeep Raj, Surinder Singh, Sukhwinder Singh, Harjeet Singh and Vijay Singh Manhas.
