Inter-school girls competitions of Jammu
Shreya, Kritarthi, Sonali excel in fencing

JAMMU: Shreya Gupta of Presentation Convent (PC), Kritarthi of MHAC Nagbani, Sonali of Army Public School (APS) Domana secured first position in under-14, under-17 and under-19 age groups respectively in Sabre event of the inter-school girls fencing competition of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on Thursday.
Second place in under-117 category went to Malivi of KNIT while Samreen of New Taj Public School and Aviza of Dewan Devi School remained joint third. Similarly, in under-14 age group, Ananya of GD Goenka bagged second place, followed by Sanchita of Dewan Devi and Charvi of APS Akhnoor, joint third.
In girls’ under-19 Sabre event, Rimya of APS Nagrota lost to Sonali of APS Domana to secure second place. Mahapara of Tiny Tots and Muskan of DPS were joint third.
Matches were officiated by the technical panel comprising Shefali Gupta, Ujjwal Gupta, Anthony Matoo, Abdul Quadir and Tonny Matoo. Earlier, the competitions were declared open by District Sports Officer Jammu, Chanchal Kour amidst interaction with the participants and technical penal as also those accompanying teachers.
