Inter-school extempore competition held at JKMS

JAMMU: Youth Talent Search, a forum of schools, organised an inter school extemporary declamation contest in Hindi as well as in English at JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School, Talab Tillo here on Friday.
The function started with Saraswati Vandana by the students of class 9th.
Students from more than 10 reputed schools of Jammu namely Alexander Memorial School, Bikram Memorial School, Lawrence Public School, New Era Environmental High School, SD Tara Puri, Guru Govind Public School and Mayur Public School participated in this competition with great interest, enthusiasm and zeal.
The topics of the competition was ‘social media is a leading cause of victim in society’ and ‘Charitra Hi Dharam Ka Mool Hai’.
Raj Kumar (Retd.) Principal was the Chief Guest and Inderjeet Sawhney, Senior Lecturer of English was the Guest of Honour and also judged the competition.
The winners were judged on the basis of their content expression, gestures, pronunciation and confidence.
First prize in English was won by Ajaz Hussain of Lawrence Public School, second by Tanvi Sharma of Mayur Public School and third position was secured by Prisca of SD Tara Puri school.
While in Hindi contest, first position was bagged by Christson of Alexander Memorial School, second by Vansh Baru of Lawrence Public School and third prize was secured by Palak Sehgal of New Era Environmental High School.
Managing Director of JKMS, Sanjeev Gupta and Director Academics Rajni Gupta lauded the efforts of the students as well as the teachers for their brilliant performance .
Rajni Gupta said that these competitions help the students to improve their communication skills and learn the new ways of presenting their thoughts and also appreciated all the participants for expressing their valueable view points and congratulated the winners.
