Inter-school district level competitions of DYSS APS Sunjwan boys bag U-14 basketball title

JAMMU: Army Public School (APS) Sunjwan bagged the under-14 boys’ basketball trophy in the annual inter-school district level competitions, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at MA Stadium, here on Wednesday.
In the final, APS Sunjwan defeated Jodhamal Public School 21-03 in a one-sided contest. Earlier, in the semifinals, APS Sunjwan beat Stephen International School 24-07 and Jodhamal outplayed MHAC Nagbani 10-04.
Meanwhile, the under-17 basketball event shall be decided tomorrow with the holding of semifinals and final. Other Results: Preliminary Round: JP World beat APS Nagrota 10-0; MHAC Nagbani defeated St. Franchis HSS 21-08; St. Peter BC Road blanked APS Kalu Chak 12-08; JK Public School beat APS Miran Sahib 19-08; Heritage defeated Jodhamal 19-13. Matches were officiated by Vishal Bharti, Vaneet, Mousmai, Satika and Amit Kalsi.
HANDBALL: The handball under-17 boys’ title went to St. Peter BC Road after they beat Rainbow Public school 10-05 at Shastri Nagar ground, here. The handball under-14 final won by Heritage School beating APS Miran Sahib 7-0. Earlier, in the semifinals, APS Miran Sahib beat St. Peters BC Road 3-0 while Heritage trounced St. Peter, Karan Bagh 7-0. Matches were officiated by Ajay Kumar, Gourav Sharma, Sanjay Jamwal and Mokshi Bali. MATSOGI DO: The Matsogi Do under-17 boys’ title won by Jodhamal Public School beating Stephen International School 10-4. In the meantime, the under-17 trophy went to Jodhamal Public School after they beat Jammu Sanskriti School 10-03. The event was conducted by Ajay Paul, Kamal Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Sudesh Jamwal.
