JAMMU: Yash Paul and Ajay Kumar of Jammu district clinched 1500 meters gold in under-19 and under-17 categories respectively in the ongoing Inter-District State Athletics meet, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at BSF Stadium, here on Thursday.
Second place in 1500 meters under-17 category went to Tariq Hussain of district Poonch while Sikander of Udhampur finished third. Similarly, in under-19 year 1500 meters silver medal bagged by Yougal Kumar of district Udhampur while Shuvam Sharma of Kathua remained third.
Meanwhile, as per the organising committee, the prize distribution function of boys’ competitions shall take place at 12:00 Noon on Friday.

UNDER -17 yr: Javelin Throw: Junaid –ul- Haq, Ganderbal, Ist; Moin Khan, Reasi, 2nd and Aabid Aftab, Kulgam, 3rd. 1500 mts: Ajay Kumar, Jammu, Ist; Tariq Hussain, Poonch, 2nd and Sikander, Udhampur, 3rd.
UNDER -19 yr: Javelin Throw: Ishfaq Hussain, Baramulla, 1st; Rashid Hussain, Kishtwar, 2nd and Irfan Kohli, 3rd. 1500 mts: Yash Paul Tinkoo, Jammu, 1st; Yougal Kumar, Udhampur, 2nd and Shuvam Sharma, Kathua, 3rd
