Through medium of your daily I would like to draw the attention of all concerned with reference to the press release published in your esteemed daily dated 27th Jun 2016 page 7 under the title , ‘Ban inter_district recruitment’ by all J&K Hilly Dist SC Coordination Committee Pouni. According to Pankaj Bhagat that SC youths of hilly region of the particular Dist. are deprived of the opportunity of getting jobs due to inter_dist recruitment policy of the State Government.
It is also notable that a particular category is beginning to make hue and cry for such a small policy of the government, but they are least bothered for the suffering of the poor people from general category living in far flung area without any special privilege or concession from government merely due to being from so called upper caste. Government has never bothered to look into the welfare of the children of poor from general category for the last sixty seven years.
Reservation system has divided the society and has created an edge between the caste, religion and region which is creating confusion and frustration among young generation. Present system has created category within category rural vs urban and rich vs poor. It an old saying better late than never at least it has come in the mind of these people that losing the job opportunity merely on reservation basis hurts the sentiments of an individual.
It is the need of hour to ensure essential steps for equality and justice among all sections of the society. Provide special support measures to the poor from all sections of the society and put competitive spirit among youths instead making them dependent upon reserved quota. State Govt must take genuine legal steps to abolish all privileges and concessions given to the people on the basis of caste, religion and region .Poor has no caste. Let us be sincere towards the society and say goodbye to reservation.
