KULGAM: Kulgam Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of burglars involved in burglary cases at Srandoo, Qaimoh, Qazigund, DH Pora and Yaripora, in which cell phones, cameras, laptops, readymade garments, cattle/sheep and Kiryana items were stolen in large numbers.
The apprehended burglars have been identified as Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, resident of Wanpora Qaimoh, Mohammad Ibrahim Sheikh alias Ibi, resident of Hawoora, Gulzar Ahmad Dar, resident of Wanpora, Bashir Ahmad Mir, resident of Hydergund Zainpora, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Wanpora, Bashir Ahmad Ganie, resident of Chitragam, Mohd Hussian Bhat, resident of Hydergund Zainpora, Bilal Ahmad Lalo, resident of Redwani Payeen, Shahid Ahmad Bhat, resident of Redwani Payeen and Mohammad Yousf Lone, resident of Heff Shermal Shopian in the cases registered vide FIRs 237/2015, 55/2016, 77/2016, 78/2016 and 62/2016 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC at Police Station Kulgam, 98/2015 and 28/2016 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC at Police Station Yaripora, and 80/2016 under Sections 379 and 427 RPC at Police Station Pulwama.
Meanwhile, accused namely Bashir Ahmad Ganie and Mohammad Hussian Bhat have been apprehended as stolen property was recovered from their shop in Zainpora area and they were selling the same to people. Police has also claimed that several other names have been surfaced in interrogation and more recoveries are likely to be made. “With the arrest of these burglars, almost all cases of burglaries in Kulgam have been solved”, a police handout stated.
Meanwhile, Qazigund police has also succeeded in busting a gang of burglars involved in stealing of sheep/ cattle by arresting Aqib Ahmad Mir and Adil Rashid, residents of Bon Devsar, Rafakat Ali Khan, resident of Bokal Reasi, Shabir Ahmad Khan, resident of Arnas Reasi, Javid Ahmad Bakarwal, Sangaldan Ramban and Mukhtar Ahmad Dar resident of Nagshivpora Shopian.
The gang was using a Santro car (JKO5B/2157) and motorcycle (DL6SAK-3426) for the transportation of the stolen property. By apprehending the said gang the below mentioned cases of Police Station Qazigund/DH Pora were solved and stolen property was recovered. The vehicles used for the burglary incidents have also been seized. Moreover, Qazigund Police also apprehended one accused namely Hilal Ahmad Malik alias Ganda, son of Ghulam Mohi-uD-Din, resident of Salyaloo Qazigund and recovered a huge quantity of stolen property from National Highway stolen from Bazari Kulgam. He was travelling in a vehicle bearing No. JKO3E/7084. The stolen mustard oil of different types worth thousands of rupees and the vehicle has been seized on the spot. Other accused involved in theft namely Parvaiz Ahmad Rangraze (Kingpin) is absconding and efforts are on to effect his arrest. In this regard, Police has registered FIRs vide Nos. 59/2016 and 76/2016 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC at Police Station Qazigund, 41/2016 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC at Police Station DH Pora and 90/2016 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC at Police Station Kulgam.
