‘Intense opposition to settlement of Rohingyas need of time’
STATE TIMES NEWS
KATHUA: Taking cognisance of deliberate attempts to change the demography of Jammu by settling illegal immigrants from Myanmar and Bangladesh in Jammu city and its peripheries by none other than State Government functionaries and certain organisations, a congregation of social, political and legal fraternity on Sunday asserted to oppose any such move rigorously to safeguard the peaceful dwelling of Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Jains and Buddhists in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a meeting here on the issue of illegal settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi immigrants in Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur and other Hindu majority areas, Advocate Ankur Sharma, Prof Hari Om, Dr. Ajay Chrungoo and Advocate Anil Singh discussed the complexities of the problem and probable remedial measures which can be taken to overcome this alarming situation which is a serious threat to the security and integrity of the country. The speakers held threadbare discussion on the role of Government of India as well as State Government in the issue.
The meeting also discussed the relation of Islamic Fascism with the current problem and manufactured blindness to the problem, aided and abetted by the Government and other state instrumentalities.
The meet ended with a larger consensus that Amarnath movement of 2008 again needs to be resurrected and people of Jammu have to rise against this maliciously induced migration which has a direct bearing on the survival of Hindu minorities.
The speakers made an appeal for taking this movement right to the grass root level making it a mass movement to defeat the nefarious designs of Jihadis and vested interests in the Government. Others who spoke in the meeting include Madan Lal Toofan, Amit Sharma, Puneet Mahajan, Aman Kohli, Raj Sharma and Surjeet Singh.
