JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party gave an ultimatum of six months to the Parliament of India to integrate Jammu and Kashmir with Union of India.
“Parliament of India should integrate State of Jammu and Kashmir with the Union of India which was not integrated by the Constituent Assembly in 1950 so that the people of the State shall also enjoy fundamental rights like other citizen of India,” Patron JKNPP, Bhim Singh told reporters here on Sunday.
“If fundamental rights guaranteed to the Indian citizen were not granted to the citizens in J and K, he shall take the torch upto the United Nations in 2017,” Bhim asserted.
He also accused Parliament of India to pass 35 A (Article) to discriminate against the Indian citizen residing in Jammu and Kashmir who had voluntarily acceded to the Union of India in 1947. In all, 577 States, he said, were integrated when two states namely Hyderabad and Junagarh had not signed the Instrument of Accession in 1947. NPP Supremo accu-sed Constituent Assembly for this blunder under the leadership of Indian leaders at that time when Maharaja Hari Singh had signed the Instrument of Accession on 26th October, 1947.
“I am remained locked in several jails under J and K detention laws for over eight years under the detentions laws as the fundamental rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution are not guaranteed to the Indian citizen residing in J and K,” he disclosed.
Later, Prof. Bhim Singh also felicitated son of soil, Mithun Manhas, who has represented the State at national and international level in the game of cricket.
