JAMMU: Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching and extending benefits of Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme (Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY SEHAT) to all residents of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, Social Activist Balvinder Singh demanded installation of eye-scanners at Khidmat Centers for enrolment of people under PM-JAY Ayushman Bharat scheme as finger-prints scanners are unable to read faded fingerprints of Senior Citizens. Pertinent to mention here that the scheme ensures Universal Health Coverage and focus on providing financial risk protection, upto Rs 5 lakh per person per year for ensuring quality and affordable essential heath services to all.
Singh further said that numerous complaints have been received from Senior citizens including working woman that they are unable to get themselves enrolled for the scheme because of their faded fingerprints. He requested concerned officials of National Health Mission J&K UT especially Mission Director Bhupinder Kumar to install IRIS Sensor (Eye-Scanner), for recognition and authentication of users by capturing image of iris of individual eyes, at every Khidmat Center, as at least 10 to 20 per cent persons including senior Citizens and working class women have failed to get themselves enrolled under the scheme because of their faded finger prints. Singh further urged the Mission Director to kindly make arrangements for home enrolment of old, sick and disabled persons.
