POONCH: The activists of Insaaf Movement led by its Chairman Javid Reshi held a protest against Irrigation and Flood Control (IFC) Department for its failure to carry out the protective works in Sathra area after 2014 floods.
They said that no action has been taken by the department to carry out the restoration work during the last 19 months on the devastation caused by the floods adding that the people of the area are facing lot of difficulties. They further said that huge funds for relief and restoration were provided by the government but nothing is visible in Sathra area.
They demanded that the administration should take notice of the issue and an inquiry be ordered to look into the justification of the funds spent when nothing has been done on ground to carry out the protective works. Others who spoke include Moulvi Abdul Latief and Riaz Khan of Sathra.
